My name is FREDERICK SCHNEIDER. I was born in 1780 and died March 31,1861.
I was born in Neuhausen Hess Darmstadt, Germany. I entered the French Army under Napoleon the Great in his 20th year. At the Battle of Wagrum, I was assigned as one of Napoleon’s personal body guards. I continued fighting and was in the battles of Leitzen and Blitzen. I was taken prisoner by Hessions at Katzbaugh in Silesia which ended my military career. I was awarded the Medal of St. Helena by Napoleon II. I came to America in 1830 and settled on the Schneider Farm near Ardenheim, PA.
